I don't understand Japanese at all.
Is it possible for me to purchase properties in Japan?

Yes, it's possible and your Japanese language skill shouldn't matter.

Is it possible to purchase properties in corporate names instead of individual names?

Which areas do you recommend to invest in?

To be honest with you, it is depends on your style of investment.
If you prefer to gain stable income with a low risk, areas within the Yamanote line such as Chiyoda-ku, Minato-ku, Bunkyo-ku and Shinjuku-ku would be options.
For investors looking for high returns, areas outside the Yamanote line might be choices.
If you seek higher status, the luxurious shopping district, Ginza, and upscale residential areas in Minato-ku like Azabu, Hiroo and Roppongi are recommended.
To invest in Tokyo Olympic's economical impact, Harumi, the site of the Olympic Village and sightseeing spots like Asakusa are good.

Yes, it's possible. Ski resorts in Hokkaido and beach resorts in Okinawa are especially famous.
